The Beamish Trophy Trial is run every year by South Durham Vintage Motorcycle Club.
It was run originally for 27 years by The Friends of Beamish (Museum) who handed over to Durham Classic Motorcycle Club in 1998 until South Durham VMCC took over in 2008.
The famous trial covers approximately 120 miles of Northern Dales in Durham, Cumbria & Northumberland and has a number of challenging off-road sections.
The start & finish is at The New Board Inn, Hill Top, Esh, nr. Langley Park, County Durham.
The date for the next BTT 2020 (48th) is Sunday 20th September 2020.
Historically, an early forerunner of the BTT is The Travers Trophy Trial of the 1920's. There are some photos on our website of The Travers Trophy Trial from 1921, 1922, 1929 (courtesy of Pathe News). The photos show some of the test hills that are still used today in the BTT.
